Laminate Countertops

A nice way to change the look of your kitchen is new countertops. While granite is sometimes too expensive - and not always safe on older cabinets - laminate countertops have come a long way.

From new colors and finishes that mimic the granite look to great new edges check out this link:

Snow....

Even though the snow yesterday was an inconvenience to many, it looks beautiful this morning.  Due to the unsteady temperatures we are having lately - 50 one day, 25 at night - there are some things we wanted to tell you to watch out for:

  • Melting snow could cause flooding in driveways, garages or basements.  It is a good idea to try and make paths so the melting snow has somewhere to go - other than into your house.

  • Melting snow during the day and freezing at night could also start to cause ice dams.  If you start to see signs of ice dams try to shovel some snow from the roof or call a professional.

  • Rain is expected tomorrow so you may want to get out there today (or have the kids do it) and shovel off decks as the rain/snow combination will be very heavy for them.

Then get outside and enjoy the snow while it is here - go sledding, skiing, have a snow ball fight with the kids, build a snowman and then enjoy some hot chocolate.  Spring will be here before we know it.
